Activists on the Ground
Anafé operates thanks to the commitment of volunteers who are directly involved in fieldwork. Volunteers are divided among several specific missions:
- Staff carry out in-the-field activities in waiting zones, including legal support sessions to inform and assist detained individuals.
- Visitors gather information on detention conditions in waiting zones and on how procedures are applied by law enforcement.
- Volunteer interpreters support field workers during legal sessions by facilitating communication with non-French-speaking detainees.
- Observers monitor law enforcement practices related to control, detention, and deportation at internal land borders and collect testimonies.
- Communication volunteers work on modernizing Anafé’s communication tools and manage social media outreach.
