Operational Partners
Anafé collaborates with numerous organizations as part of its activities.
In addition to inter-associative work with its members, the association works specifically with many organizations on field operations, advocacy, litigation, and communication efforts.
In waiting zones, Anafé works with all authorized associations that have access to these areas.
At internal land borders, Anafé partners with national and local organizations active at the Franco-Italian, Franco-Spanish borders, and along the northern coastline.
More broadly, Anafé is involved in various inter-associative networks and collectives.
Anafé is a member of several networks, including Migreurop, the Observatory of the Detention of Foreigners (OEE), the International Center for Popular Culture (CICP), De quel droit, among others.

Anafé also works closely with lawyers on both individual and strategic litigation cases.
Finally, Anafé is a key partner for independent administrative authorities such as The Controller-General of Places of Deprivation of Liberty (CGLPL), The Defender of Rights (DDD), The National Consultative Commission on Human Rights (CNCDH) and UNICEF France. This recognition stems from the quality of Anafé’s work and the reliability of the information it collects.
Financial Partners
Anafé’s work is made possible thanks to its financial partners. Their continued and renewed support enables Anafé to carry out its activities each year and defend the rights of individuals detained at French borders, while maintaining its political independence.
Some of these organizations are also operational partners and collaborate with Anafé on specific actions.
Public and private partners contribute to Anafé’s mission through ethical and transparent funding.
Awards
Anafé received a Special Mention from the French Republic’s Human Rights Prize in 2019, awarded by the National Consultative Commission on Human Rights (CNCDH) and presented by the Minister of Justice. The CNCDH highlighted Anafé’s crucial role:
“Anafé has successfully secured a unique right of access and oversight in waiting zones and at borders; it ensures that these zones are not lawless spaces for vulnerable individuals. Its role is essential in guaranteeing a dignified and rights-respecting reception for people in waiting zones and at borders.”(Message of support from CNCDH on the occasion of Anafé’s 30th anniversary)
In 2021, Anafé was awarded a Women’s Award by the RAJA – Danièle Marcovici Foundation for its work with women detained in waiting zones.
Anafé’s expertise on French borders and detention sites makes it a recognized interlocutor for public authorities and institutions, and a trusted reference for foreign nationals, their families, and supporters.
